At Execam we prefer to provide firm quotes on clear briefs so that there are no add-on surprises when the invoice arrives.

No matter how brief your initial idea is, we can help you develop it. We can offer a range of creative treatments and styles or completely fresh ideas to help you achieve your communication goals.
Scripting
Whether starting from scratch or refining an existing script we add real value because of our background and expertise in broadcast. Writing scripts to be read aloud is a specialised craft, and quite different to writing reports etc. which will be read by eye. Jim’s background in sub-editing at TV3 and TVNZ newsrooms equips him well to quickly polish draft scripts into a smooth read, or write afresh. If you want to write your own, a simple rule of thumb is that we naturally read 3 words a second, so to calculate the duration of your script, do a word count and divide by 180.
Filming
We own a variety of professional level cameras and equipment allowing us to provide crews at very short notice. We also use a large range of freelancers to cover the exact skills needed for any job in any part of the country or world. Be it director, camera operator, sound recordist, make-up artist, auto-cue operator, grip, gaffer, best boy or catering, we’ve got it covered. We can film in any format you need from DV to High Definition and put together different sized crews in various configurations to suit your budget. Please ask us for a current price list.
Editing
We have 3 Final cut Pro suites, plus a Media 100 and a Sony Vegas editing suite. All suites are HD capable. They also include Adobe After-effects and Photoshop for graphics and animation work to give your project that extra pizzazz.
DVD and Blu Ray authoring
We believe DVDs are an under utilised resource. One of our main focuses in DVD and Blu Ray authoring is to help you get the most out of your product. Video is no longer linear where you have to start at the beginning and run through to the end. Chapters allow you to go directly to different sections of the video, and of course you can have multiple menu items allowing you to include extras like extended interviews, photo galleries, and that piece to camera from the Chief Executive which so often kills a good video right at the start! Most of our clients these days like to have a long and short version of their video on disc, and we can easily add subtitles in a range of languages. We often produce signed versions for the deaf, and have pioneered a process which has been welcomed by the deaf community where rather than squeezing the signer into a little box; we put the main video in the box with the signer taking up most of the screen. Much of the DVD authoring can be achieved with little additional cost. You are really only limited by your imagination!
Sound recording and mixing
Our dedicated sound suite consists of a Digidesign Protools Suite. This handles everything from simple voice over recording to complex mixes for television broadcast. The suite is available for audio-only work (reading books etc.) as well as television and video sound mixing. We also use the suite to convert analogue audio (cassette tapes) to digital files with filters to enhance audio quality. We have recently completed conversion of all the Waitangi Tribunal hearing tapes (approx 6000.) The suite is complimented by an extensive music and sound effects library to really bring your production to life.The recording studio is available for hire to other radio and video production houses.
